So today I’m off to Sweden! First some fun in Stockholm, including the Swedish Freak meet up, and then off to Skelleftea.

Anna and Jörgen in Prague

Not only will I have time to catch up with my friends I haven’t seen for 9 months, but I will be going to a proper Swedish wedding!

Swedish Wedding Invitation

I’m super excited. Not only is it my fabulous friend Anna and her awesome fiance Jörgen, but her family and friends I know well enough to know it is going to be an awesome time.

Plus I finally get to meet her father, who speaks more bonska than svenska! It is going to be a serious Swedish experience.

I don’t know much about Swedish weddings. I know, that about 60% of the women in Sweden actually marry. So 40% never do!

Why? Sambo is a pretty powerful partnership. So marriage isn’t really necessary most of the time. Plus Swedes are just awesome like that 🙂

I also know that it is common for Swedes to ask for money for your meal instead of a gift. So practical, I love it!

Swedish KronorThere are also rumours of an open bar. Oh dear. You know what that means. Many Swedes will be getting Swedish drunk. As will I.

It also took me forever to find a dress. I have no idea if I will fit in or stand out like a sore thumb. We will find out though!

All in all, I’m ready. Dress. Money, that I hope will last for a week, but I also know I could easily spend in 2 days.

But between meeting Swedish Freaks, seeing my great friends, and going to a real Swedish wedding, I know it will give me memories for a lifetime!
