Swedish Freak

I’m a Swedish Freak.

And I love Swedish things.

Whether it is a fun contest for a Swedish grammar book, a Swedish Easter egg, or a discount on a cool Swedish product, I’ll take it all!

It saddens me that I’m not in Sweden. But I still think I can bring Sweden to the world (and I’m stubborn, so I will do it!)

I’ve been thinking, what can I do to bring Sweden to all the great Swedish Freaks that read my blog and visit my site.

Why, create an Awesome Swedish Things Newsletter!

So if you like my contests, if you like cool prizes, if you like free things and discounts, then sign up for my mailing list. I’ll be stalking companies that have something to do with Sweden, and I’ll be telling them that they should give us free stuff because we are Swedish Freaks and we represent!

For those of you who hate email, do not worry. I will still be posting about a lot of these contests on my Swedish blog and Facebook fan page. But if you really want to be in the loop, and want all the contests, then you will sign up for this awesome Swedish newsletter.

Be on the look out for an email soon, we have a contest coming up for a piece of art from a true Swedish Freak!

  1. Hejsan Dear Missfoster !

First, I would like to thank you for your blog and great tips (Byki Swedish language…).
I’ll be really grateful if you read my email til the end. Promise, I won’t be long.

My name is Lila and I’m 21. I’m french (from Lyon) but living in Brussels, Belgium where I used to study in a well known european film academy. (Institut des arts de diffusion)
I’m fond of Scandinavia for many years now. A true Sweden Freak ! (I got swedish shoes for my birthday, I eat Krisprols, I’m listening swedish music, I’m a Bergman fan, I think socks are cute…)

This summer, I’m going to shoot my first movie in Sweden. My movie is about young swedish.
I want to discover through them the “real Sweden”.
During a month, I’m going to travel in Sweden. Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö… and maybe an island !
It would be a real chance for me to get some advices from the Queen Of Swedish Freak.
Any places I absolutely need to see ? Visit ? Meet ? Eat ? Avoid ? What do you recommend ?
I’ll be so grateful to receive a little help.

Well, have a nice swedish day !

    Waiting for some good news,

    Kind Regards,

    Lila Cousin

    • Out of those cities you mentioned, I’ve just been to Stockholm. I can also recommend Karlstad, Orsa and some of the more inner cities, and of course Skelleftea (far north). Eat: Selmor, godis (swedish candy), meatballs, moose meat, palt (far north), berries and cream, CHEESE, coffee. Do: Check out a loppis (there is an awesome one in Stockholm), fish, hike… I’m from Norrland, so my view is all skewed! Try to go to a Swedish party, drink a lot of beer very quickly and feel sick! Have a fika with coffee.
