Due to the hurricane in the states, we have been in Stockholm a tad longer then expected, waiting for my parents to arrive so we can drive up to Norrland and go moose hunting!
Not a bad thing being stuck in Stockholm (if you can afford it). My most favorite thing to do while in Stockholm is eat! For some reason Skellefteå seems to lack in any fine cuisine (though the prices would make you think otherwise).
We were staying in Gamla Stan (not pricey at all, right?), which means it is hard to find a restaurant that doesn’t cost 300 SEK per meal. But some good and affordable restaurants do exist!
Our first stop was a restaurant we’ve eaten at before that is oh so yummy! Ristorante Pacanini has Italian food, in the center of old town, and affordable! Affordable means about 175-190 SEK for a pasta dish (large portions), and wine for about 78 SEK per glass. From my knowledge, this is about the same prices you can get in Skellefteå for some of the nicer restaurants, but maybe not as good food. The staff was amazingly nice and helpful, and I always have a good time at this restaurant. My favorite dish is the Frutti di Mare pasta, but my sambo has ordered other things and they are all delicious!
Another restaurant one of my old couch surfing friends took us too. Non Solo Bar is a little cafe that was packed on a Sunday and had very yummy and filling food. I was trying to be healthy with a Pollo Macadamia but I think nothing in that place can be healthy. It was super delicious and very cheesy. You can’t go wrong with cheese!
All in all, I’ve may have left Stockholm a little heavier, but with an appreciation for city food! Might as well eat out while I can, right?
For those of you that do live in Stockholm, what is your favorite restaurant and why? If it is in my price range I will be sure to try it next time I’m in town!
youre right! you can NEVER go wrong with cheese 😉 lol
ah yes! I so wish we had a cheese shop in town, yum yum! Luckily here, we get some locally made cheese that is soooo good. But that is for another blog post 🙂
That would be Västerbotten, right? My absolute favourite cheese.
yep! I am so doing a tour of the factory next summer 😀
