Lucia is coming up this weekend, and what does that mean? Lussebullar! Since there is a big snow storm here, I decided to make some. The American way.
First, buy a box of lussebullar mix.
Put the yeast in warm water for 5 minutes.
Add the yeast and mix and mix.
Once well blended, leave the dough covered for 30 minutes to double in size.
Put some flour on a rolling area and knead the dough.
Roll into thin long piece on wax paper.
Make it into an S. Add raisins.
Leave to rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake for 5-10 minutes.
Once golden brown, remove and let cool under cloth.
Finished! Ok, that wasn’t very American, way to many steps, and way too much time. Whatever, that is probably why we don’t have lussebullar in America. Or maybe I was just missing the cute young Swedish girls to help me bake these, like in the picture on the back of the box.
Why don’t you have cute young swedish girls to help you? Get on it!
Speaking ’bout “The American way”……. Do you watch “Allt för Sverige” on SVT1?

Truthfully… Im afraid. 🙂
Though really I should just watch it and do a blog post on it 😉
They are not giving america a bad name if that’s what you’re worried about, really lovely and well behaved! 🙂
Love your blog! Well done!
