Win a Swedish Easter Egg!

Swedish Easter EggSo, Easter is this weekend. All the fun Easter things are for sale everywhere, and Sweden loves these giant paper Easter eggs with nice pictures on them. From what I remember, we don’t have these in the States, nor in the Czech Republic. So they are Swedish!

I thought it would be fun to do a little contest for my Swedish Freak followers. It will probably only be interesting to you in the States, since any Swede can buy these eggs at their local super market. But this contest is still open to everybody.

To enter and win this amazing egg just comment on this post with your favorite Swedish thing. Since there is no way the egg is going to get there before Easter, this contest will run until April 30th. I will randomly pick a winner who will get this awesome Swedish egg. Make sure to use your proper email address when commenting so I can contact you!

Lycka till! (Good luck!)

The biggest change for me are the paste of life. In norrland they take forever to put the groseries on the groserieband(rullbandet) in supermarkets. First they look at which item to pick. Then they pick it up. Look at it again, turn it around three times. Look at it again as Am I acutally going to buy you and take you home. Then look at it again then put it on the band. Then they slowly pic up the next item and do it all over again. It made me crazy in the begining. Now I quite like it. And that everybody says hi to eatchother even though you do not know eachoter at all.

The other thing is the language. And how you give critizism. Where I am from you just say it frankly. Here they bake it in a polite sentence. So the first 3 years I had no clue at work when they wanted me to change something. I just took it for pointers not a actual request that they frankly wanted me to do it in a specific way.

Another thing that I have found out is if in Norrland you do not live or are togheter with an acutally Norrlänning that have their own group of friends. It is extremly hard to find friends. Because all people already have their groups and don’t find it nessecary to get to know new people in the same matter as in the south of sweden. It is easier to make friends down there because they are more open to people coming and moving around.

Thats the diffrence that I found. And that in Norrland they don’t feel ashamed to walk about in your mjukisbyxor “softy phants” on town. That would not happen where I am from. I like that it is more easy going and that they do not care as much about the apperance when you strole downtown.

    • I haven’t seen one of these eggs in a very long time. I can remember when I was a little girl there were some small metal eggs with this type of graphic on it. So pretty. 🙂

  3. my favorite Swedish thing is the Swedish chef on the Muppets! Does he count? If not, then when i was in Goteborg last fall, i ate yummy chocolaty coconut covered balls which could be a favorite. But, if I win the egg, that will definitely take over as my fave!
