Looking For Swedish Freak Writers

Hello to all the Swedish Freaks out there!

As you may have all noticed, I don’t get the amazing opportunity to write as many blog posts as I would like to. And I’m not in Sweden anymore (big tear!). But I still love Sweden, and I’m a still huge Swedish Freak! So I’m calling for any and all writers who are the same.

Ask yourself this:

Do you love to write?

Do you want to make some extra cash writing?

Do you love Sweden?

Do you want to write about your love of Sweden? And make a few bucks (or krona, depending on where you are!)?

A true Swedish Freak

Then you are PERFECT for SwedishFreak.com! We are looking for passionate, responsible writers to join the Swedish Freak website and inform the world how awesome Sweden is. You don’t need to live in Sweden (but it will be a bonus!) and you don’t need to be Swedish (but I wouldn’t mind a Swede either!). You just have to be freakin’ crazy about Sweden!

Interested? Then contact missfoster (at) swedishfreak.com.

  1. I have always loved to write, and now that my life is taking another turn, I’m hoping to have more time to do so. I am also Swedish – My grandparents came over in the late 1800s. I have visited Sweden, and have many close cousins there, with whom I am in touch. I think I could come up with an interesting angle, or certainly one that Swedish Americans might relate to! I am also planning a trip back “home” within the next year.

Anyway, if you have any interest in my contribution, please drop me an email! Tack!

  2. Hi! I’m Swedish. But I used to live and work in SF… but that was 15 years ago. I enjoyed living in US, but it was for my love of Sweden I decided to return. Well, the love of my kids (grown up, still back in Sweden) may have played a part. Today retired, living in Karlstad with my golden retriever Ziggy, love to write about everything and nothing. That’s me. Drop me a line if you think you can use me.

  4. Hi,
    I’d love to contribute.
I’m not Swedish but my mother is, and I spent a lot of time in Sweden when I was a girl (1970s and 1980s – ancient history: Björn Borg, etc.!). I have a bunch of cousins there – mostly on the west coast, but one is in Upsala and one in Stockholm – and a couple of aunts. I’m in pretty close touch with them. I can write about many things Swedish: customs, places, people, personal anecdotes.
Also, I live in Washington DC, and try to get into the new Swedish embassy here pretty often (Sweden House) for their interesting exhibits, concerts, seminars, etc. I also try to get to the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia to see their Sweden-related exhibits there. I can report on those things if you think your readers are interested.
I know a fair amount about Swedish archaeology, because I’ve done a bunch of research for a book I’m working on.
I’m on vacation for the next 10 days or so, but when I’m back please get in touch if you think you’d like me to write for you.

  5. I am a Swedish freak and I am going to a great Swedish adult camp in Minnesota to fine tune my Swedish language skills for the yearly trip to Sweden in Spring 2013.

I am a member of the Scandinavian House in NYC as well and truly love everything Swedish…I also love getting the Nordsjernan newspaper and Swedish Press every month and The Local, which is sent to me every week online, to keep up with the Swedish news.

And I have read many, many Swedish crime novels. Fav authors are Camilla Läckberg and åsa Larson.
I also make it a habit to buy Swedish decor for my home including the “Got Fika” sign I found on your site.

Finding out and learning new things about the Swedish culture is very cool and I think I would have many different and awesome things to write about that your readers would be able to relate to.

Hope to hear from you soon!

  6. Hej!
My name is Gaby and I am from Mexico, I have been to Sweden twice. My first time was beautiful Stockholm and my second was Norrland (Sundsvall, Solleftea, Ramsele, Kramfors).. I found this site because I´m called swedish freak by my mates in Mexico. I love writing and love to know about the philosophy of life that people have around the globe, particularly Sweden. Currently in the process of learning swedish and to understand my swedish man.
Swedish culture has enriched my points of view towards different topics. If I can share what I have learnt in this 4-year journey of swedish encounters of the third kind I´ll have a blast.

  7. Hi,
I’m a Swede living south of Stockholm. I love travelling, foreign languages, and cultures, but so far I’ve always reached the conclusion that Sweden is the most beautiful country in the world, and that I should stay here.

I would really like to make contributions to this website, so I will most likely send you an e-mail tomorrow or the next day.

    Have a great weekend!
    /Katarina 🙂
