Egg Coffee

  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • 1 egg shell
  • 1 c (235 mL) coffee
  • 1/2 c (118 mL) cold water
  • 8 c (~2 L) boiling water


1. Mix the coffee and egg.
2. Add the cold water and stir well.
3. Crumble the egg shell and stir it in.
4. Add this mixture to the boiling water.
5. Heat over high heat until foam disappears while continuing to stir.
6. Cover the mixture after removing from heat.
7. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.
8. Strain it through a fine mesh strainer and serve.
