So today my Swedish friend took me out for a fika. Finally, I got to have my very first Swedish waffle! A small disclaimer, I didn’t have my nice camera, so pictures were taking with my phone. Sorry, but better than nothing, right?
We went to this cute little shop, and when we saw waffles on the board, I knew I had to have my first Swedish waffle.
They even let me go in back and take some pictures of the waffle irons. I have to say, they look the same as American waffle irons 😉
The waffles look delicious! And as you can see, the waffles are served with whipped cream and jam, mostly made from the natural berries in Sweden.
And they are very popular. The girl working there told me the wall, where they stick their orders, can be full from top to bottom. We came at a slow time.
My waffle came with cloudberry jam, which is just in season now.
Yum! Now I just need to get the Swedish waffle recipe up!
Raspberry-jam and wipped cream also works great on the swedish waffles! 🙂
YumYum!
